Regional Organizers Must Consider Campuses

Young Greens of Canada LogoIn the latest EKOS poll which came out earlier today the Green Party of Canada is sitting at 13.0% nationally. In BC 18.1% of those polled choose the GPC.

13 is a great number for us. 18 is an even better one. But the number that should stick out the most is who voters under 25 will be supporting. In that category the GPC is out in front with 28.5%.

Of course the margin of error is higher in BC and among those <25 than it is nationally but margins of error go both ways and regardless it tells us just how important young voters are to the Green Party. Read more »

The high school students who elected so many Green "MPs" in their mock elections are now voting age and happily they are still supporting the Greens. Read more »

The Young Greens Have Momentum

It is such an exciting time to be a Young Green.  There are more campus clubs than ever.  The campus clubs are more active than ever.  The Young Greens Council (YGC) has developed a great set of materials (post cards, t-shirts, condoms, buttons, etc...) to support campus clubs during the back-to-school season that are sure to bring in recruits.  The materials will be making it to campuses in the next few weeks.  Also the new and improved Young Greens website will be launching very soon. Having seen it I can say that it is very impressive.

Katie and Ottawa Vanier candidate Caroline Rioux tabled yesterday at the University of Ottawa and signed up a few dozen new volunteers in just a couple hours.  CPAC even come out to film them for a profile they are doing on Katie.

The Green Party of Canada is polling at around 26% among voters under 25.  Katie was telling me yesterday about all of the young people who said they had never been into politics but want to help the GPC.  Young Canadians from all over the political spectrum are interested in and excited about the Green Party.
