Similarities & Differences - NDP
This is a re-post of a blog I wrote during the last election on youth.greenparty.ca.
The Green Party of Canada and the NDP have some things in common; of course we also have some stark differences. I hope to outline some of these similarities and differences below.
Similarity: The Greens and NDP are both for electoral reform.
Difference: The Greens are for electoral reform even when it’s not an election.
Similarity: The Greens and the NDP both support working families.
Difference: The Greens are for all Canadian families, both working and dysfunctional.
Similarity: The Greens and the NDP both want serious action on climate change.
Difference: The Green platform includes serious action on climate change.
Similarity: The Greens and the NDP both believe in kitchen table solutions.
Difference: The Greens believe that solutions can also come from the dining room table, the coffee table and the picnic table. In fact Greens think that solutions don’t need to come just from tables. We support solutions from benches, dressers and counter tops... but not futons. Futons are for napping.
Similarity: The Greens and the NDP think Jack might be a new kind of strong.
Difference: The Greens believe we have enough strong, can we get some smart?
