GPC BGM 2010 Highlights Part One: Gathering of Greens

This week I’m going to be blogging about what I feel are the top five highlights or takeaways from last weekend's thrilling BGM in downtown Toronto.
One of the great things about these meetings is that it brings Greens together from across the country. You meet so many new people or you finally meet in person those who you have known online for quite sometime.
It’s great to see all of the familiar faces. It’s good to know that they are still involved and are still as passionate for Green politics as ever. I was encouraged by all of the new people I met at the BGM, so full of enthusiasm for the Green Party of Canada. They arrive excited, ready to learn and few days later they return to their ridings inspired with heads full of new knowledge.
On a more personal note it was great to spend time with friends that I don’t regularly get to see and to meet Green bloggers who I have been sparring with online for a couple of years.
Being surrounded by that many Greens and being reminded of the power and momentum of our movement is worth the cost of registration alone. Quite simply we are at our best when we are together.
A room full of Greens fired-up and ready for the next campaign is a site to be seen.
