C.A.P.P.

Liberals and Dippers against people voting for other parties.I thought that C.A.P.P. stood for Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament. Then Katie sent me a link to their facebook group and now I'm not sure what they stand for.

On facebook the image you pick to be your group's logo says a lot about your group. Along with the name of the group and the member count, the logo is displayed wherever groups are listed. So the administrators of the Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament group decided that the most important message they had was: don't vote Green.

Time for a little irony. There are around 100 posts on this group decrying the lack of female representation in Parliament. Yet the group admins have selected a logo that while saying nothing about prorogation targets the only female federal party leader in the last decade, telling over 200,000 Canadians that voting for her is equivalent to throwing your vote in the blue bin. Well to be fair, maybe they didn't read their discussion boards.

I was surprised to see it. I mean Elizabeth has been very vocal in her opposition to prorogation. When Parliament was shuttered for the second time during Harper's reign many media outlets ran with her comments. She wrote a book about it!

However, I shouldn't have been surprised to see it. While campaigning for the Green Party I have of course ran into others campaigning for other parties, and when I think of the worst examples of excessive partisanship (and poor sportsmanship) I have experienced while campaigning I think of groups like these (C.A.P.P., CFS, LADAPVFOP, etc...). I also think of the NDP, but that's an other story.

I suggest you join their group (if you haven't already) and let them know what you think of their underhanded tactics.
