Green Party of Ontario AGM

The Green Party of OntarioThe Green Party of Ontario's annual general meeting wrapped up yesterday.  We made a lot of progress on various fronts.

The constitution is now far more clear and concise and I would argue better protects the rights of our members and our grass-roots ideals.

I missed most of the policy discussions but much of what I saw passed was great.  I have no doubt that the best platform belongs to the GPO.  I wasn't able to attend any workshops other than the one Kevin and I were leading but from everything I've heard they were great.  The social networking workshop was, well attended, lively and a lot of fun.  Kevin and I plan to put together a guide covering the topics presented in the workshop (including those cut due to time constraints) and I'll let you know when it is available.

So the business of the AGM was very successful but I think what was more important and more promising was the atmosphere and attitude of nearly all of those in attendance.  Throughout the plenary there was laughter and applause.  As a party we are very united and running in the same direction.

The road ahead looks very promising and perhaps more importantly this was the kind of meeting that makes you proud to be a member of the GPO.

(Arguably most importantly, Caroline brought these Rocky Road bars that were amazing.)
